UPF 50+ vs. SPF

While SPF (Sun Protection Factor) measures how long sunscreens protect skin against UVB rays, UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) measures how effectively a fabric blocks both UVA and UVB rays from reaching your skin.

Transmittance or Blocking of Erythemally Weighted Ultraviolet Radiation Through Fabrics. Measures the exact amount of ultraviolet radiation that passes through the hat's weave using spectrophotometer technology across both UVA (315–400 nm) and UVB (280–315 nm) spectrums.

No. The sun-blocking capability of the GoldenOur Sun Hat comes directly from the tight structural weave and fiber density of the material, rather than a temporary chemical coating.
Is a wide-brim hat enough protection on its own?+
