How to Pack Your GoldenOur Sun Hat
Most wide brim hats are a packing nightmare. You either wear it through the airport and spend the flight sitting at an awkward angle, or you stuff it in your bag and hope the hat doesn't arrive damaged.
We designed the GoldenOur sun hat to travel seamlessly in your suitcase.
Why the GoldenOur Hat Was Built to Travel
The GoldenOur hat is made from an organic 80% linen, 20% cotton blend. Linen is naturally lightweight and flexible, which means the hat holds its silhouette without being rigid. It's not straw, it's not structured felt, and it's not a hat that requires a hat box. The brim has real shape, but it's designed to compress flat and return to form once you unpack.
A Hat Designed to Lay Flat
The GoldenOur hat is designed to lay flat. Unlike structured straw hats or felt wide brims, you don't need to stuff the crown with tissue paper or build a fortress of rolled sweaters around it.
Unpack the Hat
Pull the hat out as soon as you arrive and let it breathe. Linen recovers quickly from any minor compression. A few minutes out of the bag and it will be back to form.
Do not fold the brim in half. The linen/cotton construction holds up well to flat compression, but folding creates a crease line that takes longer to release. Flat is always better.
Do not pack it wet. If you wore it at the beach, let it dry fully before packing. Linen packed damp can develop an odor and take longer to spring back.
Do not store it with heavy items on top long-term. For a trip, brief compression is fine. For storage between trips, keep it flat in a cool, dry place.
A Hat Worth Protecting
If you are traveling to Nantucket, Ibiza, the Amalfi Coast, or anywhere else the sun is finding you, you already know you need serious UV protection. The GoldenOur hat is certified UPF 50, made from breathable organic linen, and designed to move with you from the airport to the beach to dinner without being a packing problem.
Pack the Hat. Your GoldenOur Hat is as adventurous as you are.
